HANNAH IS COMING BACK BETTER THAN EVER

After the pilot episode and the seven episodes that followed in Series 1 last year, not to mention the Christmas Special, another 7 episodes are winging their way to you very soon as Series 2 brings Hannah, her family and her friends back for more rollocking adventures!

The new series was recorded in a studio without an audience.  The sound is better than ever and the ambient sounds less intrusive, plus the theme has been given a wonderful makeover and the humour -- well, it's as naughty as ever, laden with innuendo and sex talk.

So what are you in store for this time round -- well, the series starts with Hannah's office being filmed for a documentary fronted by a hunky TV star that Hannah is crazy about and then finds Hannah trying to overcome her fear of flying when necessity puts her on a plane to Glasgow.  If that's not enough for Hannah to navigate, she decides to try and lie her way into an executive job, taking advantage of her firm's positive discrimination policy, tries to convince Tim that their new neighbours and up to no good and goes on a diet and exercise binge against the advice of...well, everybody really..  She also has to deal with a lost college hamster and when she is given the chance to be at her own funeral, she goes all out to make people think she's dead so she can hear what they say about her.

The fabulous Nanu Chumber reprises her role as Hannah, with Robert Chantler as Tim, Giovanni Tagliarini as Josh, Caroline Palmer as Karen and Geoff Buckingham as Tony all making welcome returns.

There is new talent too, with Niamh Mallott taking on the role of Hannah's slightly stoned spiritualist friend, Maddie and Sue Forde playing Polish cleaning lady, Anya.

Martin Clarke, Heather Harrisson, Philippa Stuart, Danny Maynard, Jo Maynard, Robert Hardy, Alan Saunders, Mark Hover and Tina Turner all pop up in wonderful cameo roles and loads of belly-aching laughs are assured, plus at the end of the series, a collection of outtakes!

Keep an eye on the blog for more details, and catch up with Series 1 and the Christmas Special on You Tube.  The Special can also be heard on the Listen Again Play On Wey feature on Radio Wey's website - www.radiowey.co.uk

Series 2 Part 1

The first four episodes of Series 2 will be recordrd in March with the second half recording planned for April/May.  To assist in sales of the episodes a copyright and royalty free theme tune will be used and between scene jingles that complement it.  The plan is to record subsequent series without an audience for reasons of logistics and cost.  While the style might be different you can be assured that the characters and humour will not change :)

PLANS FOR 2013

In 2013, the plan is to record Hannah Series 2 and 3 without an audience, with the hope that Series 2 will be broadcast in the Summer of 2013, and Series 3 in the Summer of 2014.  As Series 4 has been written, there is the possibility that this might be recorded too during the year for a 2015 broadcast.

Meanwhile, the Christmas Special and all the episodes broadcast so far remain on You Tube.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL - CHRISTMAS DAY 8.00pm

The Christmas Special was well attended and everyone enjoyed the show, the mulled wine and the mince pies and we had a lucky ticket winner who walked off with a nice cash prize.

It is likely that subsequent series will be made without an audience for logistical reasons mainly and so this was an even more special event than it might otherwise have been.

The show will be broadcast on Radio Wey at 8pm on Christmas Day and repeated (details to be confirmed) and will be on You Tube from January 2013 where Series 1 already is.

It's going to be great so if you missed out on being in the audience, you can enjoy the fun and for those of you who came along, it will be a nice reminder of the evening.

It's a warm hearted and happy story as you'd expect and there's loads of innuendo-laden humour and crazy antics!

A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON THE CHARACTERS

HANNAH SPENCER is extremely neurotic, being multiply phobic, highly superstititous and always like a coiled spring.  She can be reckless and impulsive, clingy and manipulative, with a fear of psychiatrists and an insistence that she is as sane as the next person.  She is good hearted though, and loves her family, who generally just keep their heads down and let her do what she likes.

TIM SPENCER is a scientist and academic, a world weary and rather jaded, quiet man who can keep Hannah on a lead when necessary but would prefer a quiet life.

JOSH SPENCER is their teenage son, and unlike most teenage boys who find their parents an ebarrassment, he actually has cause to.  Not too rebellious, he just keeps his head down and lets his mother's eccentricities wash over him.

KAREN is Hannah's assistant at work.  She is level headed and calm, but can be quite barbed at times.  She quietly despairs of Hannah but is still fond of her and the two of them have their "slut banter" which usually occurs whenever a double-entendre rears it head.

TONY is Hannah's boss, so laid back he is horizontal, extremely lazy and only in his job because he is very good at grovelling to the company CEO.

JOE is Hannah's dad.  A brummie through and through, he is also a widower, living alone in Birmingham and occasionally dropping in on Hannah.  He was a music hall comedian and entertainer and is even madder than his daughter -- you can certainly see where she gets it from.

GEORGE and HELENA are Tim's parents.  Helena is a real snob while George is more down to earth.  They are recently retired civil servants.

BECKY, MARK, JESSICA and CHARLOTTE - Becky is Hannah's sister.  Mark is her partner.  They are both "normal" and have two girls.  The girls are left with Hannah and Tim at Christmas while Becky and Mark try to shore up their relationship.

Joe, George and Helena, Becky, Mark, Jessica and Charlotte are all new to the Christmas special.
